How to make a christmas tree from pallet wood

As I’m writing this post, it’s the holiday season. And since I live in the Caribbean, I don’t get to have real Christmas trees in my lawn, so what other options do I have than to make them myself? I had some pallets laying around in my back yard, so it was time to do something creative with these old pallets. This project is REALLY SIMPLE, given that you have a pallet like mine. Here is the step by step guide: Step 1: Choose your pallet. Choose wisely and save…

Simple Laundry Basket Rack

Here’s another project, although not made by myself, but by my brother: a Simple Laundry Basket Rack. Background So a friend of my brother’s had three laundry baskets laying around, and they took up too much space and needed to get their own space, preferably stacked on top of each other. So here came the idea of using the rest of the pallet wood that was used for the Garden Bench. This is actually quite a simple little project that can be done with simple tools.   I’ll keep the…

Photo Transfer to Pallet Wood

This is a little post about how I did a Photo Transfer to Pallet Wood. So, it just happened to be the case that my wife was out of the country for a few days. Still I had to work myself, and take care of mini-me, but I was able to squish in a few hours to make a small personal gift to my wife. This is what I did. By the way, I got my inspiration/information  from this YouTube Video (opens in a new tab). Start with a board of pallet…

Restoring a Garden Bench

Once there was a garden bench all new and beautiful. The sides were made from cast iron and were all curly and nice. The seat and back rest were made from wood. Solid and strong. Unfortunately there are no pictures to prove this. Fast forward to today. The garden bench’s seat and back are disintegrated and taken off. Nobody can tell where they are now. Suffice it to say, they were beyond repair. The cast iron sides are still around though, with pictures to prove it 🙂 The paint is not…

New stack of pallets came in today

This afternoon we spent at the beach with some friends, which was really nice! To top it off, we got a coffee and ice cream at our local ice cream shop. While we were on the beach we got a message from a friend that he had some 10 pallets to deliver to our house. Of course I got totally excited because my biggest hobby is busting pallets 😉 However, I had to wait on the beach and get coffee and I had to endure ice cream because no one…
